Lyrics

The grandfather clock it’s gone
It’s been left out on the lawn
Now there’s a lighter patch
Where it blocked out all the sun
& the time was stuck at twelve
Pointing straight up at the books on the shelf
That I didn’t read cause they belonged to someone else

If I stay they’ll go
When I come back they’ll never know
If they turn up here tomorrow I won't show

There’s a photo in the frame
Two coal miners in the rain
I heard they disappeared & things were not the same
& this house well it’s not mine
But I go here all the time
No one lives here so I’ve always thought it fine

& my eyes see through it like a cloth
The hall lights flicker on & off
Theres a mirror it's reflecting me
Not a person & personality
I stand here I can hardly breathe
I just wanna know when I can leave

There’s a broken wicker chair
Down the hallway up the stairs
I just sit here when I think nobody cares
& I know that this could change
But I can always rearrange
How I think it up incase it gets too strange
