Lyrics

Well you left a path of breadcrumb secrets in my home
& you never last you never just leave me alone
Well I read your stories but you stole my pages all the same
& I’m going home now with a new smile & a different name
& the purple sky it always fades no it never stays

You left a rose on my door step I waited 'till it froze
I was in the forest then in a place where no one ever goes
I held the door for you but myself I never made it in
& I go wondering through the four curved corners of within
Where I hear the sounds of the violin
& I listen close to let myself in

Well I watch the velvet river as It flows
Made me remember all the things I need to know
While I forget the things that I don't need to know
I must have been older then before I had to go

If I knew what I know now I wouldn’t go either
My sister comes to stay but I don't see her
When your eyes cannot see what you thought you saw
No your ears cannot hear what you thought you heard
You see your name put up on a banner
& your eyes are carved to look a little brighter
Yeah your eyes are carved to look a little brighter
